Lewiston, NY - Of the Town of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at home under the care of his family and Niagara Hospice. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on January 7, 1949, the son of the late John M. and Dorthea C. [Tucker] Baird.

Mr. Baird was a plumber and steamfitter with Local 129/22 for over 50 years and worked with Cayuga Plumbing and Heating in Niagara Falls.

He was very active with the Boy Scouts, as a scout himself and later becoming a scout leader with Troop 829 in Youngstown and volunteered his time with the Niagara Pioneer Soccer League in Youngstown.

Mr. Baird was the husband of 53 years to the late Karen A. [Young] Baird, who passed away in April of 2022.

He is survived by his children William (Jennifer) Baird and Dawn (Louis) Volpe, five grandchildren Ryan Baird, Stephen Roulley, Jack, Lily and Sadie Baird, a great-grandson Brycen Baird, a brother Edward (Linda) Baird, a sister-in-law Donna Baird, also many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Baird was the brother of the late John Baird, Nancy (Jack) Davidson, Mary (Karl) Stender and Diane (George) Minsterman.

Private funeral services were held at the wishes of his family.
