Sister Ancilla Marie Mecca, S.S.M.N. a sister of St. Mary of Namur who devoted her life to education, died March 12, 2016. Born in Angola, NY, she was the daughter of the late Vito and Josephine (nee Renaldo) Mecca. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as her religious community, the Sisters of St. Mary of Namur. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, March 15 at the St. Mary Center Chapel, followed by interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Sister Ancilla Marie was devoted to young children and believed that serving little children was vital and that working with them could provide a good further for the whole of society.
