Youngstown, NY - Ronald Garven, 93 of Youngstown, NY went home to be with his Lord peacefully on June 16, 2026 surrounded by his family. Born in Paisley, Scotland, he came to this country at the age of 14.
Ronald was a public school teacher for 30 years, completing 29 of those with the Niagara Falls school system, primarily teaching 5th grade at Hyde Park School. He was a member of Niagara Frontier Bible Church serving as Elder for many years.
He was a devoted husband to his wife Charlotte Gilman Garven of New Britain, CT for 63 years and was a proud Scot who loved the bagpipes, shortbread cookies and lots of tea. He was a man of faith, believing in the power of God to change lives and loved to share the good news of Jesus. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather.
Ronald is survived by his wife Charlotte, daughters Jan Warden, Jennifer Wisto (Joshua) and sons Jonathan (Cindy) and Joel (Cherie) he is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Rachael Warden (Ruby), Ryan Warden, Emily Garven, Grace Garven, Allyson Garven, Graham Garven, Nathan Garven, Faith Wells (Elliott), Samara Garven, Evan Wisto, Benjamin Wisto, Joshua Wisto, Jr. (Elaina), Grant Wisto Daniel Wisto, William Shepherd Wisto.
He is further survived by sister Margaret Garven and several nieces and nephews. Ron's humor and harmonica playing will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026 at 4pm at Niagara Frontier Bible Church, 5287 Bronson Drive, Lewiston, NY.
