Ronald M. Darco Obituary
Nampa, Idaho - It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Ronald M. Darco Sr., who departed this world peacefully on May 5th, 2026. At the age of 92, in the loving embrace of his family in Nampa, Idaho. Ron was not just a father and grandfather, but a beacon of love and strength, whose legacy will continue to inspire us for generations to come.
Born on June 23, 1933, in the picturesque town of Niagara Falls, Ron was the cherished son of Michael J. Darco and Antonnina Janowska. He grew up in a household filled with warmth, love and the strong values which were instilled by the only father he ever knew, David Eats. These values guided him throughout his life, marked by a deep sense of duty and commitment, traits he carried from his graduation from Trott Vocational High School, on to his enlistment in the United States Air Force. Ron served bravely during the Korean War. His valor and dedication to his country were recognized with a Purple Heart and honorable discharge in August 1959.
On September 29, 1956, Ron married the love of his life, Yvonne A. Ruddle, in St. George's Anglican Church in St. Catharines, Ontario. Together they built a life rich in love and family, settling down in Niagara Falls, NY, where they raised their beloved children. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, lasting until Yvonne's passing in 1997, a loss Ron bore with quiet resilience and grace.
Ron carved out a successful career, balancing his full time job at Goodyear Tire and Rubber with various construction jobs. His diligent work ethic was matched only by his devotion to his family and his beloved wife, whom he lovingly cared for until her passing. Despite the demands of his career, Ron always made time for his passions, as a devoted Buffalo Sabres fan, an avid hunter and fisherman, and as a gifted gardener, particularly proud of his homegrown tomatoes.
Known for his soft blue eyes and gentle nature, Ron was a man whose kindness and generosity knew no bounds. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, whether fixing a neighbor's leaky faucet or helping a relative build a new deck. His touch extended beyond his immediate family, impacting countless lives with his unwavering support and acts of kindness.
Ron leaves behind a legacy of love through his children; Tracy Sanginiti (Paul), Ronald M. Darco Jr. (Therese), Shawn Darco Sr.(Cherie), Tammy Artz (Jim), and Kelly Darco. His life was further enriched by his 21 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great- grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart. Though he is predeceased by his parents, brothers Anthony and Edmond, his cherished wife Yvonne, and several other loved ones, including his dear grandson and buddy Jason, granddaughter Ashley, and great-granddaughter Clarissa, their spirits remain intertwined, guiding those he leaves behind.
In his final days, Ron found immense joy in the laughter and play of his youngest grandchildren and great-grandchildren, their innocence and wonder bringing smiles to his face and peace to his heart. His family extends their deepest gratitude to the angels of Hospice, whose compassionate care and tender ways brightened his final months.
A private ceremony will honor Ron's life, celebrating the man whose gentle touch and loving spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife Yvonne, in Acacia Park in North Tonawanda, NY. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, yet his legacy of love, kindness and strength will live on in the memories and stories shared by his family and friends. Rest in peace, dear Ron. Your journey here may have ended, but your spirit lives on, guiding us with your love and light.
