Robert J. Rougeaux
Robert J. ''Bob'' Rougeaux, 81, of Youngstown, NY passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Buffalo General Hospital, with his loving family by his side. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, on February 12, 1938, he was the son of the late Gordon and Dorothy (Swain) Rougeaux.
Bob entered the United States Navy on March 15, 1956 and was honorably discharged on October 3, 1958 as a PRAN (aircrew survival equipmentman airman).
In 1965 Bob became a fireman with the Niagara Falls Fire Department. He worked as a fireman for 24 years and retired in 1989. He was an avid outdoorsman and jack of all trades, but above all, Bob was a family man. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Cynthia A. (Klimecko) Rougeaux; children, Suzette Dumais, Gordy Rougeaux, James Rougeaux, Francine (Gary) Carella and Becky (Mark) Fontanella; grandchildren, Mark, Zach, Brooke, Olivia, Cole and Alexander; great-grandchildren, Ares and Athena; sisters, Barbara Smith and Mary Lou (Don) Burry.
There is NO PRIOR visitation. A Memorial Mass with Military Honors will be held 9:30 AM on Thursday January 23rd at St. Bernard's Church, 218 Hinman Street, Youngstown, NY, with Rev. Thomas Mahoney officiating. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC. Visit for online condolences.
