Robert E. Hosie, 82, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed away on March 18, 2025 at Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born on November 1, 1942 in Jermyn, PA, he was the son of the late Eugene Hosie and the late Arlene (Steiner) Fahs; the stepson of the late Kenneth Hosie and the late Henry Fahs and the husband of Patricia (Toni) Hosie.

Bob came to Niagara Falls in his teens and attended local schools. He proudly served in the United States Army, during the Cold War, from November 21, 1960, until his honorable discharge on November 11, 1963. Bob retired from the Town of Niagara Highway Department after 34 years of dedicated service. He was a member of St. Leo's Church in the Town of Niagara, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, lifetime member and exempt member of Niagara Fire Company No. 1, American Legion LaSalle Post #1142 and the LaSalle Sportsmen's Club. Bob was an avid hunter and enjoyed history. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Bob is survived by children, Daniel (Paulette) Hosie and Jennifer Hosie; grandchildren, Ciara (Nicholas) Hicks and Mitchell (Megan Gee) Rinker; great-granddaughter, Zoey Jaymes Hicks; brother, Joseph R. (Catherine) Hosie and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents and stepfathers he was predeceased by a son James Hosie; granddaughter, Calin Hosie; grandson, David Rinker II and a brother, Kenneth Hosie.

Visitation will be on Sunday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME AND NIAGARA COUNTY CREMATION CARE, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007). Bob's Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, March 24th, at 11:00 a.m., in St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Joseph Hubbert, CM serving as celebrant. All are welcome to attend and assemble at the church. Prayers of committal and interment, concluding with Military Honors, will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Cambria, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice and/or Niagara Active Hose Volunteer Fire Company.
