Williamsville, New York - Rev. James J. Kasinski, age 83, retired pastor of Sacred Heart Church, Niagara Falls, NY., beloved son of the late Leokadja (nee Sekula) and Walter Kasinski, dear brother of William (Jean) Kasinski of West Seneca, NY, Madeleine (late Steve) Harris of Glendora, CA. and the late Gerald (Helenruth) Kasinski of Redlands, CA.; also survived by nieces and nephews.
Fr. Kasinski attended the Diocesan Prep Seminary (high school), Our Lady of the Angels Seminary, Lewiston and St. John Vianney Seminary, East Aurora. He was ordained May 21, 1966; served as part of the Missionary Apostolate at St. Jude in Sardinia, NY. He was Assistant at Christ the King, Snyder, taught at Archbishop Walsh High School, Olean, Served as Pastor at St. Benedict the Moor, Buffalo, St. Luke, Buffalo, Administrator at St. Mary, Canaseraga & Assumption, Portageville, NY, Pastor (1995-2007) of Sacred Heart, Niagara Falls and was the full-time Hospital/Nursing Home Ministry, Niagara Falls, NY until retirement in 2011.
The family will be present to receive friends from 4-7 PM Friday, January 10th, at the Urban-AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, 1024 French Road, Cheektowaga, NY 14227. Fr. Kasinski will lie in repose Saturday, January 11th, from 9:30 AM - 10: 30 AM at Our Lady of Victory Basilica where a concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM. Most Rev. Michael W. Fisher, D.D. Bishop of Buffalo will be principal celebrant. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Lackawanna. Share condolences at www.AMIGONE.com
