Rev. James F. Hassett entered into rest on Monday, October 16, 2023 in Buffalo, NY. He was born on June 21, 1948, son of the late Francis J. Hassett and Grace Seymour. Father Hassett was the former pastor of St. Patrick's in Barker, NY, St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Olcott, NY and Our Lady of the Lake Parish in Barker, NY and Lyndonville, NY for almost 23 years.
Brother of Judith (Thomas) Russell; Uncle of Robert Breeden, Timothy Russell, Thomas Russell II, Lynn Hetrick and the late Michael Breeden; Good friend of the late Jimmy T. Carr. Also survived by great-nieces and -nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call at the Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, Inc., 2670 Main St. Newfane, NY on Thursday 4-7pm. Lie in State at Our Lady of the Lake Parish, 1726 Quaker Rd., Barker, NY on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 10-11am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
