Williamsville, New York - Dr. Nicholas Carosella, of Williamsville, NY, passed away peacefully August 18, 2022, age 92, from complications of a fall, surrounded by his loving wife of 68 years and his four children.

Dr. Carosella graduated from the University of Buffalo Medical School in 1954. After serving two years in the US Army at Fort Bragg, NC, he returned to Buffalo to complete his residency in Internal Medicine at the E.J. Meyer Memorial Hospital (now ECMC). He then moved to Lockport to serve this community as an Internist for nearly three decades, with an affiliation with the former Lockport Memorial Hospital. After retiring from private practice, Dr. Carosella joined the staff of the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Buffalo as a primary care physician and served the University of Buffalo as a clinical instructor concurrently. He also served on the Admissions Committee of the UB Medical School for many years.

Nicholas was born in Niagara Falls, NY in 1929. Educated in the Niagara Falls public schools, he often credited this system for giving him the opportunities he was able to take advantage of during his lifetime.

He was the beloved husband of Mary Elizabeth (nee Crowley) Carosella; devoted father of Nicholas W., MD (Donna) Carosella, Ann Marie, PhD (Jeffrey Lackner. Psy.D), Carosella, William (Shelley) Carosella and James (Sandra) Carosella; cherished grandfather of Nicholas W., Jr. (Katie) Carosella, Christopher, MD (Susan Conroy, MD) Carosella, Rachel Lackner, PhD., Katherine (Austin Petronack) Carosella, Benjamin Lackner, Joseph Carosella, Asher Carosella and Robert Carosella; adored great-grandfather of Adrian Carosella. He was the loving son of the late Nicholas Sr. and late Ernestine Carosella; dear brother of the late Vivian (late Charles) Civiletto and the late Roland (late Mimi) Carosella; also survived by nieces and nephews.

Family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Friday, August 26, 2022 from 4-8 PM at the (Amherst Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 5200 Sheridan Dr. (corner of Hopkins Rd.). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 27, 2022 in Christ the King Church, 30 Lamarck Drive at 9:30 AM. Please assemble at the church.
