Nicholas Michael Babyak Obituary
Apex, NC - Nicholas "Nick" Babyak, of Apex, NC passed away on Wednesday, March 11 just four days shy of his 88th birthday. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Nick Babyak and Ann Goetz. He attended schools in Niagara Falls and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1956. Shortly thereafter he met his wife, Deanna from Niagara Falls, Ontario. They were married for 67 years. They had two sons, Brian who predeceased him in 2018, and Tim of Apex, NC and his children, Nicholas, Michael and Valerie.
He was also predeceased by sister, Veronica Tymkowicz and brother, Michael Babyak and is survived by sister, Ann Mitchell (Tom) and sister-in-law, Betty Babyak all of Raleigh, NC and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Nick joined the Army National Guard in 1960. He worked for Kimberly-Clark Corp. and Nitec Paper Co. as a papermaker. When they closed he worked for a short time for Union-Carbide and for Prestolite Batteries-Tulip Corp. retiring to Apex, NC with his wife in August 2003 to be nearer their family especially the grandchildren.
Nick will be remembered for his sense of humor, love for his family, and love of Hershey chocolate bars!
A Memorial service will be held on Monday, March 23 at 11:30 a.m. at The Kirk of Kildaire Presbyterian Church, 200 High Meadow Dr. Cary, NC with a reception to follow.
