Michael A. Tomkiel, 70, passed away on August 20, 2023 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Pittston, Pa on September 2, 1952, the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Nemetz) Tomkiel. Michael moved to Niagara Falls as a child and was a graduate of Bishop Duffy High School.

He was drafted into the United States Army on September 12, 1972 and was honorably discharged on September 11, 1974. Michael worked as a machinist for many years at Chevy in North Tonawanda and most recently as a CDL truck driver.

A loving and caring family man, Michael is survived by his loving companion of 40 years, Laurie Courts; his sons, Frank Davis and Anthony Tomkiel; grandchildren, Naylan, Hailey, Kyleigh, Anthony, Skylar and Vanessa; his brothers, Joseph (Debra) Tomkiel and David Tomkiel and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his infant son, Michael.

Friends may call on Sunday from 2 until 5 pm at the LABUDA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 356 Portage Road. All are invited to attend Michael's Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10:30 am at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary & Joseph Parish at Mt. Carmel, 2486 Grand Avenue where Military Honors will be conducted.
