Michael Bluey, age 97, of Niagara Falls, died Saturday, September 24, 2016 at his home. Born in the Hanover section of Nanticoke, PA, he was the son of the late Wasyl and Mary (nee Meko) Bluey and had been a resident of Niagara Falls since 1941. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII and worked as a mail carrier for the Post Office for 34 years before retiring in 1987. He was the husband of the late Catherine (nee Oschip) Bluey who died in 2007.
He is survived by a son Michael (Jill Kennedy) Bluey; three daughters, Kathryn Garrett, Carol (Timothy) Herder and Cheryl (Mark) Webster; and a sister Olga Waganka. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Tuesday at the LABUDA FUNERAL HOME, Inc., where prayers will be said at 9 AM Wednesday followed by a Funeral Divine Liturgy at 9:30 AM at Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God Church (St. Mary's), 2715 Ferry Avenue, Niagara Falls. Entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. If desired, memorials to the Church are preferred.
