To Miss Mary's family and friends I send my Prayers and Condolences on the passing of Miss Mary.
She became part of the Murphy Family in 1954 at the age of 17. Some you that are reading this may not know who I am. I am the oldest son of Dr. and Mrs. James V. Murphy. Miss Mary's parents were patients of my dads. On one of their appointments they voiced their concerns that their daughter wanted to drop out of school and they asked him if he would talk to her and try to convince her that it would be a bad decision and could affect her ability to be successful in life.
That meeting happened and it was in vain. My dad talked to my mother about this and they decided that if she did drop out, th
...ey would offer her a "temporary job" as my mothers assistant (house keeper/ baby sitter) . My parents arranged to have a meeting with her parents to discuss this plan and they agreed to try it out. That was to be the start of 40 years of being an integral part of the Murphy Family.
I have many good memory's of Miss Mary and I will never forget them. RIP Miss Mary.
