Our dad, Leo J. Zymroz, 96 years old, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2023. He was born in Niagara Falls on March 29, 1926 to the late Joseph and Julianna (Kaleta) Zymroz.

Leo was a veteran of the Army Air Force serving from 1944 until 1946. On June 28, 1952, he married his love, the former Helen Palka. He was employed as a chemical operator for over 35 years at Occidental Petroleum and retired in 1984. A man of great faith, Leo was a member of Divine Mercy Parish. He was a member of the American Legion Portage Post #1465, the Hooker Retiree's and the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America. Leo enjoyed bowling and golfing and working in his vegetable garden, but his greatest enjoyment was family gatherings and the sharing of good food and a shot and a beer.

Leo is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Helen (Palka) Zymroz; his daughters, Diana (Edward) Labuda and Marie (William) Nielsen; granddaughters, Angela (Robert) Cleary and Melissa (Brian) Frazer; his greatest new love, his great-grandson, Charlie Frazer; his sister, Jane (Leo) Garvey and many nieces and nephews. Leo was predeceased by his brothers; Teddy, Louis and Frank Zymroz and his sisters, Anna Babcock, Helen Mack, Mary Zymroz, Frances Sobczyk, Casimera Grassler and Victoria Zymroz.

Friends may call on Sunday from 2 pm until 5 pm at the LABUDA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 356 Portage Road. All are invited to attend Leo's Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 9:30 am at Divine Mercy Parish, 2437 Niagara Street, Niagara Falls, with Rev. Jacek P. Mazur officiating. Interment with Military Honors in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Leo are asked to consider Historic Holy Trinity Church, 1419 Falls Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14303.
