Katherine T. Langley passed away February 17, 2024 at Schoellkopf Health Care Facility. Born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY, the only child of John T. Langley and Katherine T." Kitty" (Wilgosz) Langley. Kathy graduated from Sacred Heart School and was a member of the last class at St. Mary's High School in 1959.

After high school, Kathy entered the convent, where she continued her studies. She received a BS in Education from Medaille College and a Master's degree in Education from the University of Buffalo.

As Sister John Vianney with the Sisters of St. Joseph, she taught elementary grades in Buffalo parochial schools for 15 years.

After leaving the convent, Kathy became a reading specialist in Cheektowaga Middle, Junior & Senior high schools. When her father passed away, she transferred to the Niagara Falls School district. She was a Merit Program teacher at Harry F. Abate Elementary School. Kathy retired in 1998 and became the sole caregiver for her mother who passed away in 2011 at the age of 97.

Friends are invited to Katherine's Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, February 22nd 10:00AM at St. Raphaels RC Church, 3840 Macklem Ave., Niagara Falls, NY 14305, with Rev. Daniel Young officiating.
