Jean S. Grabon
Our mother, Jean S. (Olejarz) Grabon, 99 years old, passed away on November 13, 2019 at the Erie County Medical Center one month short of her 100th birthday. She was born in Niagara Falls on December 11, 1919 the daughter of the late Anthony and Bernice (Skrobacz) Olejarz. She is survived by her two sons, Dan and John (Kathleen) Grabon and three grandchildren, Carey, Bryan and Tom. She was the widow of Henry Grabon and the sister of the late Ethel Skiba and Nellie Worosz.
One could not have asked for a more wonderful, loving mother. Taking care of her family was her foremost concern, and her family in return loved her deeply. She and her husband, Henry, ran a grocery store on Highland Avenue. During World War II, she worked at Bell Aircraft. After that she raised two sons and enjoyed the time spent with her three grandchildren. We will miss her terribly. She had a love for animals, especially dogs, and was deeply affected by their suffering. We will remember her as someone who loved crossword puzzles, watching Yankee baseball games, keeping up with current events and her willingness to sacrifice for others. She was always there for us no matter what the circumstances. She spent a lot of time preparing excellent meals. We can't say she enjoyed cooking, but the time she spent at it showed how much she cared for us. We will always remember her smile; it was something very special, and seeing that smile in her final years when she was in declining health was something we will never forget. We can only hope we came close to bringing her as much joy as she brought to us. Rest in peace Mom. We love you.
Private funeral services and interment were held in Holy Trinity Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Slawomir Siok officiating. Those wishing to make a donation in Jean's memory are asked to consider the American Heart Association or the Niagara County SPCA. Arrangements entrusted to the LABUDA FUNERAL HOME, INC.

My Aunt Jean was always a lively cheerful person to me. She seemed full of energy. I looked up to her spirit and her sense of style. She always seemed to remember everyone's date of birth and the date that their children were born. Aunt Jean, say hello to my relatives in heaven!
