James Paul Villar Obituary

Machias, New York - James Paul Villar, of Machias, NY, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Olean General Hospital at the age of 73. He was born March 7, 1948 in Niagara Falls, NY, a son of the late Jose and Pauline (Serianni) Villar.

He was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Yorkshire and was a Civil Structural Engineer. James had worked for Ballvac, Inc. in Cheektowaga, DeSerio Engineer in Buffalo for 28 years and for Firstrhyme, Inc. in Buffalo. He had implemented a corrective measure to repair bridge structures from Hurricane Katrina which ended up being used at the Bills stadium in Orchard Park. He ultimately won an award for his work. He also traveled the world to educate engineering students.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann T. Panfili-Villar, whom he married on September 27, 1980 in North Tonawanda; his siblings, Anthony Villar of Niagara Falls, Maryanne Villar of Niagara Falls, Michael Villar of Kenmore, David (Sally) Villar of North Tonawanda and Paula Villar of the Town of Niagara; also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and his fur babies, Bimbi Joy, Tia Rose, Princi-Anabella, and his recently adopted puppy, Popsicle "Poppie."

He is preceded in death by his parents.

There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at 3:00 PM at the Central Baptist Church, 12045 Old Olean Rd., Yorkshire, NY 14173, where Pastor Paul Phillips will officiate.
