Lewiston, NY - Of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, in Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, NY.

He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on November 15, 1943, the son of the late Raymond and Marien [Mann] Allen.

Jim graduated from Bishop Duffy in 1961 and from Niagara University in 1965, where he also received his Master's degree.

He began his career teaching History at General Brown School in Watertown, NY, before moving back to Niagara Falls, where he taught Social Studies at LaSalle High School for 10 years.

Jim became an assistant principal at Starpoint and retired as principal in 1999 and served as principal of St. Peter's School in Lewiston for 6 years before retiring in 2006.

He was a member of the NYS Teachers Association, School Administrator Association of New York State, the NET.

Jim was an active member of St. Peter's Church in Lewiston, serving as President of St. Peter's St. Vincent de Paul Society, the School Council, the Parish Council, he was a Eucharistic minister and a former member of the Knight of Columbus Council #247.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Nancy P. [Perricelli] Allen,

his children Amy (Bruce) Christman, Matthew (Mendy) and David (Jennifer) Allen, eight grandchildren Joshua, Bethany, Cameron, Tyler (Kristina), Elizabeth, Philip, Noelle and Michael, his sister Patricia Allen, also many nieces and nephews.

Jim was the brother of the late Robert, Raymond (Wilhelmina), William Allen and Cora Abel.

His family will be present on Friday, from 3-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY.

Everyone is invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Peter's Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY.

Memorials may be made in his name to St. Vincent dePaul Society or to Niagara Hospice.

Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
