Helena (Franko) Olszewski, 94 years old, passed away on December 14, 2022. She was born in Czechoslovakia on November 15, 1928 the daughter of the late John and Mary (Yurcisin) Franko.

An excellent cook and hard worker, Helena was employed as a cook at the Como Restaurant for 35 years. She enjoyed spending time at the casino. Helena was predeceased by her husband, Edward Olszewski.

Helena is survived by her children; Edward Olszewski, Irene (Alan) Hennis, Susan (Santford) Banks and Valerie (late Daniel) Buttery; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, John (Dorothy) Franko and her sister, Ann (late Mike) Striliski.

Helena's family would like to thank the Niagara Hospice nurses for their care and compassion.

Friends may call on Monday from 2 until 5 pm at Historic Holy Trinity Church, 1419 Falls Street. All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 9:30 am at St. Mary's Church, 259 Fourth Street, with Rev. Jacek P. Mazur officiating. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston.
