It is with broken hearts that our mom has passed away just ten days after our dad. We believe he was waiting for her so they could make this last journey together. Helen M. (Palka) Zymroz, 92 years old, died on March 10, 2023. She was born in Niagara Falls on September 5, 1930, the daughter of the late Julian and Frances (Zentarski) Palka.

Helen attended St. Stanislaus Kostka Parochial School and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. After graduation she worked as a bookkeeper at Walker's Laundry for over 20 years. Later, she was the store manager for 18 years at DiCamillo Bakery on Pine Avenue and 17th Street until her retirement in 2000. She was a devout Catholic, praying the rosary daily, and was devoted to Padre Pio.

Helen was a member of the Holy Trinity Seniors; enjoyed playing cards, reading, working on crossword puzzles and knitting beautiful afghans. She was an excellent Polish cook and taught her daughters how to carry on the Polish holiday traditions which we all enjoy to this day.

Helen was predeceased by her loving husband, Leo, who passed away on February 28, 2023. They would have celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary on June 28.

Helen is survived by her daughters; Diana (Edward) Labuda and Marie (William) Nielsen; her granddaughters, Angela (Robert) Cleary and Melissa (Brian) Frazer and the greatest new love in her life, her great-grandson Charlie Frazer. She was predeceased by her brothers; Edward, Walter and Felix Palka.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 2 until 5 pm at the LABUDA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 356 Portage Road. All are invited to attend Helen's Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 9:30 am at Divine Mercy Parish with Rev. Jacek P. Mazur officiating. Helen will be buried in Holy Trinity Cemetery next to Leo.
