Sarasota, FL - Gordon T. Warme passed away peacefully at his home on April 22, 2026 in Sarasota, Florida after battling Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia for almost three years. Gordon remained a resident of Grand Island for 47 years.

Gordon was on the Niagara Falls Police Department for 35 years, retiring as a Captain. Gordon was a member of the 98th Army Reserve Division for over 30 years, retiring as a Command Sergeant Major.

He enjoyed reading, golfing, bicycling and his beloved dogs Beau, Bullet and Bailey. Gordon enjoyed his dear friends from the American Legion, Retired Reserves, NFPD and the Elks.

Gordon was a beloved coach of baseball and assisted with soccer for many years with both of his sons.

Gordon was the husband of Suzanne Warme of Grand Island, father of Scott and Ryan Warme, and grandfather of his beloved granddaughter MacKenzie Grace Warme. Also survived by his sister, Carol Barbulean of Wellsville, NY.

A funeral visitation will be held at the American Legion Post 1142, located at 8643 Buffalo Avenue in Niagara Falls, NY, from 2PM-5PM on Friday, June 12th with Police Honor Guard and Military Honors. A reception dinner will follow also at the American Legion Post 1142. Parking is available through the driveway behind the Legion.
