Frances M. (nee Sioda) Herstek, of the Town of Wheatfield, entered into eternal life on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the age of 94. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, daughter of the late Anna (Fabin) and Paul Sioda and resided in Wheatfield for the past sixty-six years. She was a member of the Wheatfield Senior Citizens, St. Johnsburg Ladies Auxiliary, Wheatfield Garden Club and O.L.C. Pierogi Makers. Frances volunteered at Artpark, Special Olympics and for over twenty years at Northgate and Elderwood at Crestwood. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and was devoted to her family and was a loving and gracious friend to all. Frances was thankful for the support of her many friends.

Wife of the late John Herstek, Jr; dearest mother of Frank (Beverly) Herstek and Mary Ann (Peter) Vissat; proud grandmother of Jacob Herstek, Megan (Travis) Wolfinger, Elizabeth (Brandon) Johnson and Nicholas (Lauren) Vissat and five great-grandchildren; sister of the late Margaret Gorczynski, Ann Gordon and Chester Sioda. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to greet relatives and friends on THURSDAY, February 2nd from 3-7:30 PM at the SABER FUNERAL HOME, 549 Oliver St., North Tonawanda (692-0271).

Family and friends are asked to gather at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church (Oliver St.) for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Friday at 9:30 AM.
