Frances V. (Krupa) Ficner, 97 years old, passed away on March 2, 2023 at Avon Oaks Nursing Home in Avon Lake, OH. She was born in Niagara Falls on April 2, 1925, the daughter of the late Frank and Katherine (Zibluit) Krupa.

Frances attended Holy Trinity Parochial School and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. On December 4, 1943 she was married to the late Matthew G. Ficner who passed away on March 31, 2005. She was employed by the Carborundum Co. for 32 years as a Quality Control Inspector. Frances enjoyed reading, working on crossword puzzles and listening to old time western music.

Frances is survived by her children, William "Bill" (Jewel) Ficner and Pauline "Penny" (David) Wilson; her granddaughters, Kelly (Greg) Heath and Bethany (Tony) Wilson-Araujo; her great-grandchildren, Bennett and Wyatt Heath and Rosa Araujo-Wilson; her brother, Chester Krupa and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Walter and Henry Krupa and her sisters, Adele Robillard, Jenny Socha and Irene Timko.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 2 until 5 p.m. at the LABUDA FUNERAL HOME, INC. , 356 Portage Road. All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial for Frances on Thursday at 9:30 am at Divine Mercy Parish, corner of Niagara and 24th Streets. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
