E. Gail Smith Obituary

Middleport: E. Gail Smith, 71, passed away at her home Sunday October 10, 2021, with her loving family at her side. Gail was born April 2, 1950 in Miles City MT., a daughter of the late Harold & Rose (Litschauer) Quigley. Gail grew up in Montana and graduated from Miles Community College in 1975 with her Associate's degree in Nursing. She then moved to Wyoming and Married Gary Smith, then moving to Massachusetts. While in MA., they adopted Denise, then they moved back to WY., then to S. Dakota and finally settling in Lewiston, NY where they adopted James, Mary, Jay and Melissa. Gail was a member of the United Baptist-Christian Church. Gail loved to travel, having been to New Zealand, Ireland, Turkey, Greek Islands and Spain. One of her favorite trips was travelling down Route 66 with her dearest friend, Clara.

Gail is survived by her children, Greg (Chris) Smith, Denise Smoyer, James (Denise) Smith, Mary (Steven) Green, Jay Wolf and Melissa (John) Sulkosky; 24 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Candy ((John) Laney, brother, Raymond (Judy) Quigley; dear friend, Clara McNamee and several nieces, nephews, cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St. Middleport on Thursday October. 14, from 5-7pm. A calling hour will be held at the United Baptist Christian Church, 4800 Creek Rd. Lewiston, NY., on Friday from 10-11am, followed by Gail's funeral service at 11:00am.
