Drucilla Shealey Shealey Obituary
Our mother, Drucellia Pollard Shealey, is a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Mom transitioned on November 13th, a Sunday, God's Day, as befitting one of his most faithful servants. Mom is now in God's hand; seated at the feet of his throne, in a place he has prepared for her; a 90-year-old Christian soldier. Born in LaGrange, Georgia. She graduated from Grady Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Atlanta, Georgia and worked in corporate nursing for 44 years with E.I. DuPont Corporation. Married to her childhood sweetheart, Thomas Austin Shealey, for her entire adult life until his death in 1988. Together, they gave life to five children; John Evan Shealey (spouse Jacqui Danielson-Shealey) Karin Vanessa Shealey (spouse John R. Hill, Jr.), Thomasina Shealey, Austin Pollard Shealey and Vernon Jay Shealey. In addition to her five children, Drucellia is a grandmother to six grandchildren and a great-grandmother to four great-grandchildren. Drucellia is a warrior. Anyone who knew our mother, knew all about her fighting spirit. She never gave up; until victory was assured. Mom was a true viking. (smile) Drucellia loved spending time with her family at bi-annual reunions. Those family gatherings were some of her greatest joys. In addition, Mom loved attending and participating in various community and church events, reading 2-3 books each week during her downtime, following and cheering on those Buffalo Bills and watching her favorite PBS programs and documentaries, for later debates. Our Mom is a renaissance woman. Our Mom is much loved. Our Mom...will be missed.
A private memorial service honoring the life of Drucellia P. Shealey will be held on her 91st birthday, February19th, 2023. A fitting tribute, to a life well lived.
In lieu of flowers, condolences may be sent to her daughter - In Memoriam of Drucellia P. Shealey c/o Karin Shealey-Hill, 64 Windemere Road, Rochester, New York 14610
