Barbara Farthing (Susan) Obituary

Niagara Falls, NY - Barabara Susan (Burkinshaw) (Siejka) Farthing, 79, of the Town of Niagara, passed away January 8th 2026 surrounded by her family. Susan is survived by her son Michael Siejka and his wife Julia, her daughter Tiffani Phillips and her husband Erik, her sister Dianne MacIver, as well as her most beloved and cherished large gaggle of grandchildren: Bevin, Jameson, Lydia, Allison, Gabriel, Michael, Matthew, Alexis, and Emaleen. She was preceded in death by her mother Elizabeth Butler and father Francis Butler. Susan was born and raised in Welland, Ontario. Susan worked in, around, up and down the restaurant business - from keeping the books at the Pellamwood House; catering everything from weddings to breakfasts for the Niagara Wheatfield Falcons football team; to owning Yesterday's on Niagara Falls Boulevard for more than a decade. While it would be foolish to say that Susan had much free time in her life, somehow she always found the time to support those around her and her community - from fundraising and advocacy with the booster club, rescuing so many pets, and sharing a smile, drink, or meal with anyone who needed it. She was happiest surrounded by - and feeding a crowd - so in that spirit, we invite you to join us to celebrate Susie at Dave's Last Chance on Saturday January 10th starting at 3:00 PM, with food at 5:00 PM.
