Alexander W. Benson, of Newfane, NY, husband of the late Nancy Turner Benson, entered into rest on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at home. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on May 4, 1931, the son of the late David and Isabelle Wilson Benson.

Alexander served in the U.S. Air Force, and retired from Anchor Motor Freight as a mechanic. He loved football, animals and spending time with his family. Alexander was a creative man, loved building things and was an outside-of-the-box thinker.

Father of David Benson, Lori (Michael) Mills, Dan (Jennifer) Benson, Alexander Benson, Jr. and John (Heather) Benson; brother of Isabelle Lunderman; grandfather of David, Jr., Tony (Jackie), Jennifer (David), Amanda (Joe), Nick (Shae), Alexis, Eliza, Aden and Cole; step-grandfather of Jennifer and Nicole. Also survived by many great-grandchildren; and loving nephews, Billy and Tommy (Karen).

Family and friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2670 Main St., Newfane, NY, on Friday from 12-2 PM where a Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM. Burial will be in Corwin Cemetery.
