Thomas Edward's Story
Thomas Edward Wasson, longtime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at his home. He was 73. He was born in Monument, PA on May 6, 1943, a son of the late Ralph and Mary Wasson.
He moved to Niagara Falls as a child and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. After high school, he served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Thomas married Nadine Spacone on June 26, 1971 and they remained happily married for almost 46 years until his passing. He worked as a painter for many years and was last employed by Niagara Coating Services. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs, Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, UCLA Bruins and Niagara University Basketball fan but he was most passionate about his daughter's baton competitions as she was growing up.
In addition to his loving wife; he is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Craig) Rivera; his granddaughter (and love of his life), Isabella Rivera. Tom is also survived by five sisters, Penny, Kim, Georgia, Candy and Bonnie; and his brothers-in-law, Andrew (Carla) Spacone and Robert (Cathy) Spacone; and his sister-in-law, Mary Lou McEvoy. In addition to his parents; he was predeceased by two brothers, Ronald and Charles Gardner; and his father and mother-in-law, Carl and Evelyn Spacone.
Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue on Sunday from 3-6 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 10 AM. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Niagara Falls.
