Sherril L.'s Story
Sherril L. (McManigle) Seick, lifetime area resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 15, 2016 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was 67. She was born in Lewiston on November 22, 1948, a daughter of Janet (Campbell) McManigle and the late Paul McManigle.
Sherril attended local schools and married John Seick in 1966 and they remained happily married for 49 years, June would have been their 50th anniversary. Mrs. Seick worked at York Steakhouse, The Wedge Restaurant and at the Bargain Store. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, painting, reading and writing stories, facebook and she kept wonderful journals of her family's activities but her greatest joy was her time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her son, Michael (Cheryl) Seick; and son-in-law, Robert (late Mary) Cassatt; four granddaughters, Deanna and Gabriella Seick and Chelsey and Richele (Ken) Chateanneuf and her grandson, Christopher Bondi. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia (Butch) Perry; and four great-grandchildren, Autumn, Isabella, Connor and Aiden. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her two daughters, Michele (Michael) Chateauneuf and Mary (Robert) Cassatt.
Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, 8622 Buffalo Avenue on Thursday from 4-7 PM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. If desired, donations may be made in Sherril's name to the American Lung Association, 55 West Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601.
