Salvatore J. Coniglio, Sr., 86, of Lewiston, NY passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Mt. Morris, NY he was the son of the late Frank and Nancy (Biondolillo) Coniglio. Salvatore came to the Western New York area as a child with his family and attended local schools. During the Korean War, he served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge in March, 1953. On April 14, 1956 he married Anne M. (Sanfilippo) at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Salvatore worked in the Quality Control Department of Emerson Industrial Controls until retiring in 1994. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and was an avid bowler and bocce ball player. He also enjoyed golfing, watching sports, reading and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife of fifty nine years Salvatore is survived by two children, Nancy Jo (Victor) Talarico of Lewiston, NY and Salvatore Coniglio of Los Angeles, CA; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Nicole and Natalie Talarico and Samuel Coniglio; one brother, Thomas (Phyllis) Coniglio; four sisters, Josephine (Joseph) Palermo, Mary (late Samuel) Latona, Nancy (late Andrew) Maccagnano and Lucille (Rick) Liberatore as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Frank (Angeline) Coniglio; one sister, Anna (Charles) DiMaria and one brother-in-law, Charles Sanfilippo.
Visitation will be on Sunday, April 10th from 3 - 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, April 11th at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Peter's R.C. Church 620 Center St. Lewiston, NY 14092
