Ruth I.'s Story
Ruth I. (nee Eyeington) Long, 94 of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully, Sunday April 9, 2017 in Niagara Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born in Buffalo, New York on July 3, 1922 to the late Mira (nee Pettit) and David Eyeington.
On September 28, 1940 the former Ruth I. Eyeington married Richard E. Long. He passed away in 1990. Ruth grew up in the Buffalo area and moved to Niagara Falls in 1998. Mrs. Long enjoyed being a homemaker and in her spare time she loved to sew, knit, crochet and play bingo, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by four children, Richard D. Long, Deborah R. (Thomas) Cunningham, Dennis (Jean) Long, Diane I. (Mike) Wenz; and several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Long was predeceased by her parents; her husband; and a son, the late Donald W. Long.
The family will be present to receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the SPALLINO-AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Pine Ave.. Niagara Falls, NY, where Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 9:30 AM. Family and friends invited.
