Rudolph Scarpelli, 79, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017. Born in Spezzano Sila, Cosenza, Italy, he was the son of the late Giovanni and Rosa (Granata) Scarpelli.
Rudy moved to Niagara Falls with his family in 1947 and served in the United States Army Reserves until his honorable discharge. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Niagara University and obtained his Master's Degree from the University at Buffalo. On October 19, 1969, he married his loving wife, Irene (Monaco) Scarpelli in Italy.
Rudy was employed as a Quality Control Director at Frontier Chemical and later at Angus Chemical until his retirement in 2009. He enjoyed writing and was the author of "The Journey of Man," a non-fiction book about the historical evolution of economics.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Scarpelli is survived by his two daughters, Laura (Stephen) Monahan and Duana (John) Risio; three grandchildren, Peter, Philip and Paul; one sister, Ida (Leone) Faiola; one niece, Rose (Doug) Kozar; and was predeceased by his nephew, Vincent Faiola.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 22nd from 5-9 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, where funeral services will begin on Tuesday at 9:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery.
