Nurse at NFMMC for over 30 years
Rosemary Mondi, 73, of Zephyrhills, Florida, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on May 11, 2017 in Florida Wesley Chapel Hospice. She was born on June 14, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Santo 'Sam' and Ella (Hamby) Mondi of Niagara Falls, NY.
Rosemary attended South Junior High School and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1961. She attended Trott Vocational Nursing School majoring in the LPN course. She received her state boards in February of 1963 and immediately was employed as a LPN at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center until her retirement in 1999. Her nursing skills had her working on various wards at NFMMC including W-2 and S-5.
Throughout the years, Rosemary was involved with the Niagara County Girl Scouts of America and served as a Scout Leader for many years.
Rosemary is survived by her brother, Anthony (Geraldine) Mondi, Sr. of Grand Island, NY; and a sister, Adele (Guy) Rivett of Cheektowaga, NY. She is also survived by her niece, Christina (James) Hymiak, of Tampa, Florida; and three nephews, Anthony Mondi Jr. of Grand Island, Christopher (Jodie) Reed and Craig Reed of Wheatfield, NY. She is also survived by three great-nephews, Austin James Hymiak and Jared Anthony Hymiak of Tampa, Florida, and Derek Anthony Reed of Wheatfield, NY; and a great-niece, Gianna Marie Reed.
There will be no prior visitation. Rosemary has given the ultimate gift by donating her body to the University of South Florida USF.
