Robert J. Miller, a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, passed on Monday, July 10, 2017 at the age of 80.
He was born in McAdoo, Pennsylvania on September 27, 1936 to Katherine and Leonard Miller.
Bob, and his beloved wife Frances, enjoyed 53 years together and raised their family in Niagara Falls. Several years after his wife's death, he relocated to Florida.
Bob was a devoted Buffalo Bills fan and had 50 yard line seats for over 20 years. He never missed a game, even when the team was 2 and 14 and it was blizzard conditions! Bob also enjoyed golfing, bowling and was a huge history buff. He also enjoyed attending his grandson, Matthew's, soccer games.
He was a retired Deputy Chief for the Niagara Falls Fire Department. He was honored as a first class training chief by his first class in 1985. Bob also worked with the arson investigation unit. He took great pride in his job.
Robert is predeceased by his wife, Frances; and brother, Leonard Miller. He is survived by daughters, Kim (Douglas) Fischer, Kari Malaney, Katherine (Livio) Belardi, son, Robert Miller Jr.; granddaughters, Amanda Fischer, Lauren (Adam) Rimer, Marissa Belardi, Camryn Malaney; grandson, Matthew Belardi; a niece and several nephews. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Ellie and Harrison Rimer, who brought him much joy in his final years.
Friends may call Sunday after 3 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, where services will be held at 7 PM. Graveside services will be held Monday 11 AM in White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery, Amherst.
