Robert W. House, age 88, of Amherst, NY, died on Sunday, June 11, 2017. Born in Tonawanda, NY to the late William E. House and the late Bernice (Byron) Floss, he was the beloved husband of the late Helen (nee Kolano) House. Mr. House was a US Marine veteran of both WWII and the Korean War, and was a recipient of Two Purple Hearts. He was a member of Conrad F. Kania Detachment #230, Tonawandas' Post 264 American Legion, Elks Club Lodge 860, an Honorary Member of the Marine Corps League, and was a past member of the Eldredge Bicycle Club in the City of Tonawanda. He was also a member of St. Christopher Church in the Town of Tonawanda.
He is survived by three children, Shelley Craig, Timothy J. (Carol) House, and Daniel R. (Grace) House; and six grandchildren, Michael Robert Craig, Jillian Marie Craig, Alexandra Helen House, Ryan Daniel House, Drew Timothy House and Garrett Jackson House.
Family will be present on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (Between Morgan & Broad Sts.) City of Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 16th at 9:30 AM at St. Christopher Church, 2660 Niagara Falls Blvd., Town of Tonawanda.
