Raymond L. Angelo, 87, of the Town of Niagara, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Dunmore, PA, he was the son of the late Anthony and Lucinda (Werman) Angelo.
Ray attended school in Pennsylvania and served in the United States Air Force until his honorable discharge in 1954. On October 27, 1955 he married his loving wife, Ruth (Liples) Angelo. Ray was employed as a millwright by Hooker Chemical Co., later known as Occidental Chemical Co., for over 33 years until he retired in 1989. He was a member of the Occidental Retirement Association and an annual member of the Hyde Park Golf Course in Niagara Falls where he made one of his two holes-in-one. Ray also enjoyed bowling and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Buffalo Bills.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, Raymond is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his four sisters, Rose Stefko, Mary Cimino, Esther McCauley and Bertha Olsen; three brothers, William Angelo, Anthony Angelo and John Angelo.
There will be no prior visitation. Private services with Rev. Mark Gregori and Rev. Jim Schambach concluding with Military Honors will be held at the convenience of the family.
