Phyllis Ruby Wokersien, 77, of North Tonawanda on Saturday August 20, 2016. Phyllis was born 1939 in Niagara Falls to Oscar and Lillian Carbone. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tonawanda. Phyllis retired from Carborundum in Niagara Falls in 1992.
She loved to travel and visited places such as Spain, Canary Islands and Hawaii with her friends. She returned to Hawaii with her husband, nieces and nephews as a High School Graduation gift to them. She and her husband were regular travelers to Las Vegas and Florida for the winter months; often visiting Disneyworld. She enjoyed a good card game and was a master Scrabble player. Daughter of the late Oscar Carbone, sister of the late Larry Carbone and sister-in-law of the late Rod O'Donnell.
Loving daughter of Lillian Carbone. Dearest wife of Edward Wokersien. Sister of Pauline O'Donnell and aunt of Kristin and Kevin Ruggiero. Great aunt "Fese" of Tea and Livia Ruggiero. Sister-in-law of Jackie Carbone and James (Marilyn Behm) Wokersien. Aunt "Phyl" to Carla (Joseph) Reeves. Marisa (Alex) Tetzlaff and Jason Wokersien.
Friends received by the family on Tuesday from 3-7 P.M. at the Brunner Funeral Home, 156 Robinson St., North Tonawanda where a Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. that evening. The Rev. Robert Rickus, officiating. The family requests that memorials be made to Niagara Hospice, Inc. or the Nor-Ton Red Jacket Club.
