Mary H. 'Bettie' Goodall of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017 in Elderwood at Wheatfield. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on September 15, 1921, a daughter of the late William and Mae (Toomey) Hoshal.
Mrs. Goodall graduated from St. Mary's High School and served with US Coast Guard during World War II, being stationed in Washington, DC. She was a secretary with Robert Sage Brokerage and later with the Niagara Falls Board of Education for over 20 years, before retiring in 1992. Mrs. Goodall was the secretary for the Democratic Party, in both the City of Niagara Falls and Niagara County. She was a member of the Ladies AOH and served as the President of the Mother's Club at Bishop Duffy and Madonna. Mrs. Goodall enjoyed knitting hats and mittens for several charities in the area.
She was the widow of John D. Goodall, Sr., who passed away in January of 1998. Mrs. Goodall is survived by a son, John D. Goodall; two daughters, Mary L. 'Cindy' (Alan) Smith and Barbara (James) Scinta; three granddaughters, Patrice Scinta, Elizabeth (Troy) McCullough and Gillian (Steve) Harrington; three great-grandsons, Owen and Reece Harrington and Vincent McCullough; one sister, Suzanne Dokey; also many nieces and nephews.
Her family will be present on Monday from 3:30-7:30 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 8:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 259 Fourth Street, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Jacek P. Mazur officiating. The Ladies AOH will have a service on Monday at 7:00 PM. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in her name to Niagara Catholic at www.niagaracatholic.org/donation. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Lewiston, NY.
