Marian Hartman McAlpine, 69, of Niagara Falls, passed away at home on March 22, 2017.
An avid reader, a lover of literature, art, and history, Marian loved to learn, share and teach. She was born and lived in the city of Niagara Falls, NY. A graduate of the University at Buffalo, Marian worked for many years as a substitute teacher in the Niagara Falls City Schools, later working in the mental health field with The Dale Association in Lockport, NY. She was a compassionate and loving individual who deeply cared for all living beings.
Marian was the daughter of the late Curtis and Marjorie Hartman, and is survived by daughter, Sarah (Matthew) Smonskey; grandson, Leigh
Smonskey; sister, Carolyn Gonzalez; aunt, Lucille Lewis; and many extended family members.
Marian opted to donate herself to the UB Anatomical Gift program to assist students and further medical research.
