Margaret Ruth's Story
Margaret Ruth (Irwin) Kelly, formerly of 75th Street, passed away peacefully Friday, May 6, 2016 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. She was 93. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on November 6, 1922, the daughter of the late William and Della (Corcoran) Irwin.
She attended local schools and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School, Class of 1940. When her children were older, she began employment with Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center working in the housekeeping department. She retired in the mid 1980's after 13 years. An avid reader, she enjoyed period time reading, anything Irish and murder mysteries. She also liked to travel with her husband and family.
She is survived by her children, Christine Kelly, Kathleen Kelly, Barbara Sharp, Jill Kelly (Dean) Duckett, David (Jacalyn) Kelly, all of Niagara Falls and John K. Kelly of Los Angeles; four grandchildren, Megan, Erin and Ryan Kelly and Hunter Duckett; and a great-grandson, Jackson. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, John Joseph Kelly, in 1998.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Blind Association of WNY, 1170 Main Street, Buffalo, NY 14209. The LANE FUNERAL HOME is handling the arrangements.
