Lino G.'s Story
Lino G. Vecchies, 88, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017. He was born on February 26, 1929 in Detroit, MI, to the late Santo and Lucia Vecchies.
Lino was a Korean War Veteran with a Masters in Engineering from the University at Buffalo. Employed by Bell Aerospace Co. as a rocket scientist, Lino worked on lunar module rocket booster projects for the 1969 moon landing, as well as co-authored a published document with NASA.
In addition to his parents, his brother, Stanley Vecchies, preceded Lino in death. He is survived by his ex-wife, Rosalia (Scricco) Vecchies; children, Daniel, Thomas, and Danila Vecchies; daughter-in-law, Michelle Vecchies; grandchildren, Anjuli, Ryan, Daniel, Erin Vecchies, and Anthony Gouge.
Lino's wishes were to donate his body to the University at Buffalo's Anatomical Gift Program.
