Lillian Jackson (nee Cox), age 72, of 901 Cedar Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, was called to rest at home on Thursday, March 23, 2017. Lillian was born to parents Litha (McQueen) and James Cox (both deceased) on November 30, 1944 in Montgomery, Alabama.
She moved to Niagara Falls at an early age with her family, attending local elementary schools, Niagara Falls High School and studied at the University of North Carolina at Durham. Lillian traveled extensively, returning to Niagara Falls to live permanently in 1989.
Throughout her life she held various positions which included the Niagara Gazette an Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.
Lillian leaves behind one son, James Wesley Brooks Jackson; a grandson, Marcus Jackson; sisters, Mattie L. (Cox) Johnson (Gregory Young) and Julia A. (Cox) Belle (Steven N.) both of Niagara Falls; two loving nieces, Litha Portiaeyene Johnson of New York City and Lillian Rebecca Johnson of Grand Prairie, Texas; six great-nephews and nieces; and many friends to mourn her passing. She is predeceased by nephew, Rueben Lance Johnson.
Services are private. The family will celebrate their beloved Lillian's life on a date and place to be announced.
