Laurie's Story

Laurie Ann Heigl, 51, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away suddenly from this life on May 11, 2017 after a lengthy illness. Laurie was born on March 22, 1966 in Riverhead, NY. She was the daughter of the late Richard Hooper and Dorothy (Smith) Anderson.
Laurie attended local schools including 99th Street, LaSalle Junior, and LaSalle Senior High School. She was an employee of Nabisco Shredded Wheat in Niagara Falls until its closing, moving then to retail employment. Laurie fought stage four cancer for five and a half years, diligently day by day.
She loved campfires, the outdoors, and s'mores. She wasn't shy and loved to have a good time joking around with family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her four precious grandbabies, Andrew, Hailey, Ariel and Audrey.
She is survived by her three children, Wayne 'Joe' (Courtney) Heigl, Tanya Hooper, and Tiffany Heigl, all of Niagara Falls; brothers, Richard Hooper, Jr., Dennis Hooper, and Russell (Cathy); sister, Donna (Harold) Jeffs; and her loving nieces and nephew.
Friends may call on Tuesday, May 16th from 1-3 PM and 5-7 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME, INC., 319-24th Street, cor. of Welch Ave., Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 7:00 PM with The Very Rev. Ellen Brauza officiating. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
