Kurt P.'s Story
Family and friends are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Kurt P. Beehler, Jr. on April 8, 2017. A sensitive and beautiful young man, he was 24 years old and the only child of Kurt and Pamela Beehler.
Kurt will forever be remembered for his kindness, his irrepressible smile, and his friendship.
He was an honor student who graduated from Niagara Catholic High School and subsequently earned a degree in computer science from Niagara University. At 15, Kurt began working in retail, determined to buy a car. Always industrious, he landscaped during college and interned at Blue Cross and Blue Shield his junior year. Upon graduating from Niagara University, he was hired as a software engineer at General Dynamics.
As a boy he played Little League and Grand Niagara Hockey. While at NC he was on the soccer, tennis and wrestling teams. Kurt especially loved engineering music and looked forward to spending summers in the Carolinas and Sherkston with family and friends.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his grandfather, George Beehler; his aunt, Elizabeth (Edward) Jesella; his uncles, John (Annette) Stempien and Fred (Deborah) Stempien; and his cousins, Mary Kosut, John Kosut, Stephanie Stempien, JR Stempien and Jason, Stephanie, Eric and Jennifer Beehler. Also survived by his godparents, Vince and Mary Beth Johnson, and their daughters, Lauren and Shauna. Predeceased by his grandparents, Helen and Alfred Stempien, and Sophie Beehler; and his uncle, Karl Beehler.
His family held private services.
Kurt was loved by all who knew him but it wasn't enough to shield him from the severity of his mental health condition. Contributions in Kurt's memory may be made to NAMI of WNY, the National Alliance for Mental Illness.
