Town of Niagara/Niagara Falls - Kathryn "Lillian" Schmelzle, 83, of the Town of Niagara, NY, went home to be with the Lord Friday March 25, 2016 after a short illness.
She was born on August 31,1932 in Liberty PA. The daughter of the late Helen & Maynard Schmouder. She attended Liberty HS school and Graduated in 1950. That same year she was selected Miss Liberty Beauty Queen.
Lillian attended Calvary Baptist church for over 40 years. She enjoyed traveling, garage sales, and shopping. Her biggest joy in life was spending time with her family and close friends. She was a certified Reflexologist for over 30 years. She loved her clients while it fulfilled her need of nurturing and caring.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Lloyd L. Schmelzle; three daughters, Dianne (Tony) Rosh of GA, Roxanna (Duane) Frederick of NY and Barbara McCall of MA; one son, Timothy (Mona) Schmelzle of NY; one sister, Orvilla Thomas of PA; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Freda Phelps, Clara Edler, and Mary Galbraith.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 30th at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Robert Scott officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
