Josephine Mroczek Worosz passed away peacefully on February 4, 2017, at home at Brookdale Kenmore Assisted Living, at the age of 102. Born March 18, 1914, in Niagara Falls, NY, Josephine was the daughter of Thomas and Marya (Bak) Mroczek, and the sister of Stella, Stanley, and Bruno Mroczek, all of whom predeceased her.
She married her much beloved late husband, Thomas John Worosz Sr., June 15, 1935, in Niagara Falls, NY. Josephine was active in the community and was a member of the LaSalle Guild of Arts and Crafts, and a parishioner of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Church. A lifelong fan of knitting and crocheting, she dedicated herself in her later years to making afghans for our troops stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan, and provided over 100 blankets to the military.
Josephine is survived by her son, Thomas John (Ann Marie) Worosz, Jr. of Zion Crossroads, Virginia; and her daughter, Harriette Worosz, of Niagara Falls; grandchildren, Laura (Richard) Malnight, Thomas (Melinda), Paul (Kristen), Kathleen (Jason) Olson, Mary, Theresa, and Philip (Kristen); and numerous great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held on March 18, 2017 at 11 AM at Prince of Church, 1055 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, followed by burial at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
