Joan (Carrier)'s Story
Joan (Carrier) Wykrent, age 64 of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed from this earthly life to her heavenly home on May 29th, 2017, after a brief illness. She was under the care of Niagara Hospice at Newfane Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Joan was born June 22, 2952 in Lackawanna, NY.
Joan was employed by Dollar General of Lewiston for several years. She enjoyed making handcrafted items to bless others. She especially enjoyed doing wedding flower arrangements and beautiful wedding albums.
She was the beloved wife of John A. Weykrent for 41 years. She is survived by her parents, Charles and MaryAnn Carrier of the Town of Lewiston; her sister, Brenda (Kenneth) Currie of the Town of Niagara; nieces, Jenna (Benjamin) Mueller of N. Dakota and, Kayla Currie (Brendan Altman-Cosgrove); nephew, Justin Currie; a great-niece, Maddison Altman-Cosgrove. Joan is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was especially close to her cousins, Judith (late Claude) Davis and family of Governeur, NY.
Joan has donated her body to the University of Buffalo for medical research.
A Memorial Service will be held at Destiny Christian Church at 905 College Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, on Saturday, June 17th, 2017 at 12:00 noon.
