Jean (Tomala) Kindzia, 98 years old, passed away on September 2, 2017 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. She was born in Niagara Falls on May 4, 1919, the daughter of the late John and Josephine (Kowalski) Tomala.
Mrs. Kindzia attended local schools. She and her late husband, Anthony J. Kindzia, Sr., were the owners and operators of the Club 1770 on Falls Street for many years. She enjoyed her retirement years cooking, crocheting and spending time with her family. She was a member of the former Holy Trinity Church. Mrs. Kindzia's family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Our Lady of Peace and Elderwood at Wheatfield for their loving and compassionate care.
Mrs. Kindzia is survived by her four sons, Anthony J. (Susan) Kindzia, Jerald (Johana) Kindzia, Robert (Anne) Kindzia and Donald (Lisa) Kindzia. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony J. Kindzia, Sr.; her granddaughter, Tracey Kindzia; her grandson, Joshua Kindzia; her sister, Helen Wilgosz; and her brothers, Stanley Tomala and Joseph Tomala.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8 PM at the LABUDA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 356 Portage Road where funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Thursday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM at Divine Mercy Parish, corner of Niagara and 24th Streets with Rev. Jacek P. Mazur officiating. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston.
