Helen (Zawislak) Wiley, 84, passed away after a brief illness on April 22,2017. She was born in Oil City, PA, and was the daughter of the late John and Mary(Malski) Zawislak.
Helen moved to Niagara Falls as a child and attended St. Stan's and St. Mary's schools. She married the late Richard Wiley on May 11, 1957 and began her journey as a wife and parent. Helen was involved with her children's needs and school activities, while working at Kantanista Grocery, after which she began helping run the family business as the Vice President and bookkeeper.
In her spare time, she enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and friends. Helen was also an avid reader, doing the daily crossword puzzles as well as crocheting and going to the casino with her best friends.
She is survived by her children, Judy (late Tony) Guthrie, Mary (Bruce) Woodburn and Richard (AnnMarie) Wiley Jr.; grandson, Paul Lashway; sister, Mary 'Bonnie' (Phil) Nasca; and brother, Thomas (Anita) Zawislak; brother-in-law, Chester (late Edith) Laskowski. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Walter and Richard Zawislak.
Friends may call Wednesday, April 26th from 3-7 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC., 319 24th Street, cor of Welch Ave, Niagara Falls, NY 14303. A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 9:30 AM on Thursday, April 27th at Divine Mercy Parish, 2437 Niagara Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14303, with Reverend Jacek Mazur officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Burial following in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
