Helen R. (Szostak) Kolano joined the Lord on April 7, 2017 after a brief illness. She was the eldest daughter of the late Alexander and Rosalie (Bartosz) Szostak and wife of the late Stephen Kolano. She was formerly of Niagara Falls, NY and most recently lived in Merritt Island and later Rockledge, FL.
Mrs. Kolano worked at Maxim's Department Store and then Beir's Department Store while living in the Love Canal area of Niagara Falls. She was an active member of the Love Canal Homeowners Association, as well as a member of both the Echo Society and the Polish National Alliance. She enjoyed sewing, bowling and cooking authentic Polish cuisine, and the gentle, friendly manner she expressed to all will be sadly missed.

She is also survived by sisters, Genevieve (late John) Kuca and Joan (late Jack) Mitravich, both of Niagara Falls; plus numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Alex (Helen), Bruno (Mary), Walter, Stephen and John (Catherine) Szostak; and grandson, Matthew Kolano.
